Entry to the program requires a high school or secondary education diploma (or higher). Applicants are expected to have good results in Biology and Chemistry. If these subjects were not studied in high school, certification of related supplementary courses is highly recommended. An entrance test covering Biology and Chemistry is mandatory, but it can be substituted by SAT Subject Tests. These requirements aim to ensure that students have the necessary foundational scientific knowledge before starting the program. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Tıbbi ve Veteriner Genetik programı, insanlar ve hayvanlardaki biyolojik ve patolojik süreçler hakkında yetkinlik kazanmak için mükemmel bir fırsat sunmaktadır. Müfredat, sitogenetik, moleküler sitogenetik, moleküler genetik ve biyokimyasal analiz gibi klinik uygulamalardaki genetik testlerin teori ve pratiğini içermektedir. Mezunlar öncelikle genetik, tıp ve veterinerlik, gıda güvenliği, eczacılık, çevre koruma ve biyoteknoloji alanlarındaki araştırma ve tanı laboratuvarlarında istihdam edilmektedir. Alternatif olarak, bilimsel bir yol seçerek yüksek lisans eğitimlerine devam edebilirler.
The Medical and Veterinary Genetics program offers an excellent opportunity to gain competence in biological and pathological processes in humans and animals. The curriculum includes theory and practice of genetic testing in clinical applications, such as cytogenetics, molecular cytogenetics, molecular genetics, and biochemical analysis. Graduates are primarily employed in research and diagnostic laboratories in genetics, medicine and veterinary science, food safety, pharmacy, environmental protection, and biotechnology fields. Alternatively, they can choose a scientific path and continue with Master’s degree studies.
Programme structure
Tıbbi ve Veteriner Genetik programı dört yıllık bir müfredatı kapsamaktadır. İlk yıl, İnsan Fizyolojisi, Hayvan Fizyolojisi ve Temel Genetik derslerine odaklanılır. İkinci yıl, Genel ve Moleküler Patoloji, Moleküler Biyoloji, Biyoistatistik, İmmünoloji Temelleri ve Bitki Genetiği konularını içerir. Üçüncü yıl, Veteriner Genetiği, Tıbbi Genetik I, Analitik Kimya, Biyoinformatik derslerini ve lisans tezi çalışmasını kapsar. Son yıl ise Mesleki Uygulama ve Lisans Tezi’nin tamamlanmasına ayrılmıştır. Bu yapı, öğrencilere hem teorik bilgi hem de pratik deneyim kazandırmayı amaçlamaktadır.
The Medical and Veterinary Genetics program encompasses a four-year curriculum. The first year focuses on Human Physiology, Animal Physiology, and Basic Genetics. The second year covers General and Molecular Pathology, Molecular Biology, Biostatistics, Basics of Immunology, and Plant Genetics. The third year includes Veterinary Genetics, Medical Genetics I, Analytical Chemistry, Bioinformatics, and the start of the Bachelor’s thesis. The final year is dedicated to Professional Practice and the completion of the Bachelor’s Thesis. This structure aims to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
